Media Does Not Load

Before reading on, please remember to use this only if none of the video works on our site. If something isn't working always try to watch something else, if what you tested works, then please report the non working video below the video player. You can also contact us by clicking here. If nothing works on the site please read below.

1.) You need windows media player 9+ or Silverlight to play videos. You may also need to switch your browser, for example try internet explorer or Firefox (If the current player is giving you trouble, change it by clicking here)

2.) If the video does not work try to refresh the page 2-3 times, you can also try it again in a few minutes. You may need to clear your browsers Temporary Internet files (cache). If you are using silverlight then you will need to do it on the browser you are using. If you are using windows media player then you will need to do it on Internet Explorer even if you are using another browser to watch the video! click here for instructions On how to delete your cache.

3.) Your firewall/Anti virus program may cause playback problems. Try to disable it & make sure that its not blocking port 81. A router with restrictions on ports being used can also prevent videos to work.

4.) VLC player has been known to cause video playback issues when using silverlight player. Disable VLC plug-in and/or uninstall it completely.

5.) You may have an outdated version of Windows Media Player, we recommend 11 or 12 click here to download it. If you are using silverlight then click here to update your current version!

6.) WMP Only - open up Internet Explorer browser (Even if using another browser) and go to Tools > Internet Options... > Stay In The General Tab > Go Under Temporary Internet files > click on "Delete Files..." and a pop up should appear. Check "Delete all offline content" and click ok..

7.) The plugin for the player you are using may have stopped working on browsers such as FireFox. We recommend that you clear your cache/temporary internet files then close out of your browser. You can then open it once again, the player should work without any problems.

8.) You may have a faulty Media player or browser, try re-installing them. To uninstall a browser or silverlight please click on start > Control Panel > Uninstall (Add/Remove Programs). To uninstall windows media player 12 go to control panel > Programs > Turn Windows features on or off > Expand Media Features > Uncheck Windows media player & hit apply. To uninstall windows media player 11 click here. To uninstall other versions simply search the Microsoft website by clicking here.

9.) WMP Only - TCP/RTSP may not be enabled, right click on the player and go to options > Click On The Network Tab > Make sure UDP and TCP are checked and hit apply.

10.) WMP Only - Http/RTSP may not be on the streaming proxy settings list, right click on the player and go to options > Click On The Network Tab > See if HTTP and RTSP are under the Streaming Proxy Settings. Once you verify they are not listed, click on start > Run > type cmd (if you are using vista or windows 7 simply enter cmd in the search field) > and hit enter (If you are using vista or windows 7 right click on cmd & click run as Administrator) > Copy and past "regsvr32 wmnetmgr.dll" > Hit Enter > test the episode by refreshing the browser window.

If after this videos still do not work on Internet Explorer, pelase reset all IE settings by downloading SF IE Restorator.

11.) Internet explorer sometimes will prevent the media from playing, because it will not check for a newer version of the page. To correct it please do the following:

Open up internet explorer > Go to Tools > Internet Options > Click settings under browsing history > Under Temporary Internet Files choose Every time I visit the webpage > Click Ok > Click Ok.

If you are still having trouble, please contact us by clicking here.

12.) You may have a dynamic IP address, you can verify this by going to http://whatsmyip.org. If you refresh your page a few times within 30 seconds & your IP address changes, then you have a non-static IP. The only soultion at this time would be to get a static IP address or videos will not work for you.

Media Stops Before Completing

1.) You might need to change browser settings.

How To Change It:

Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options > Go Under "Browsing history" and click "Settings".

Open up "Internet Explorer" go into "Tools". This should bring down a drop-down menu. On this menu select "Internet Options".

A new window should now have already appeared. In this window, look under "Browsing history" and select "Settings".

A new window should now appear. In it, you should have "Automatically" checked under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" and also increase the amount of disk space to use. (1024MB should be sufficient) Click "ok".

Once you have completed these steps, go under Temporary Internet files and click "Delete...".

A pop-up should appear. In this new window, select "Delete all...".

Another pop-up should appear. Tick the box and select "Yes". Lastly, click "ok".

Media Will Not Play in FireFox/Chrome (Player does not appear) or media player is distorted

Firefox Notice: If your WMP plugin stopped to work after a firefox update, please visit this link. You may also have to Check extensions & remove Adobe DLM & any other extensions you may not need. If after then it still does not work, try to reinstall plugin.

Chrome Notice: If your silverlight plugin stopped to work after a Chrome update, or if it doesn't work at all please visit this link.

Please follow the following link and follow the instructions on how to download & install the windows media player plugin.

 http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-player-firefox-plugin-download.aspx

If after installing the plugin it does not work, please do the following:

-Make sure you exit out Firfox/Chrome after the installation is completed then open it back up. In some cases we have noticed that firefox needs to be installed for the plugin to work properly on Chrome. You may also have to uninstall the plugin while your browsers are not running, then install the plugin again (keeping browsers closed during install).
-Its possible that The pluign is being installed in a different directory. For example plugin will install in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox". Move the plugins folder to the directory where Firefox was actually installed.
-It has been reported that real player & VLC plugins causes the windows media player plugin to not work. You should disable the real player plugin on firefox or do the following:

1) Click on "Tools">Options"
2) Click on the "Applications" tab
3) Search in the "Content Type" column, all the applications that start with the words "Windows Media." Click on the content that is listed to the right of each application's name and choose "Use Windows Media Player (default)."

By doing this, Firefox will avoid using the Windows Media Player plugin and will open the corresponding application directly with Windows Media Player.

If the above does not work please uninstall real player/VLC and that should resolve your problem. You can try to reinstall it at another time but it has been known to conflict with the windows media player plugin.

All I see is a green screen or video plays like a slide show (video lag).
If you happen to see a green screen while streaming anime, you might want to consider getting another browser or reinstalling windows media player. If the video plays like a slide show please do the following (This may also help with the green screen issue):

- Right click on your desktop and click properties.
- Click on the settings tab and then click on advanced.
- Click on the troubleshoot tab.
- Lower the acceleration tab to the 3rd notch from the left. (4th notch from the right)
- Hit Apply. (Note: If this doesn't fix your issue change it back to what it was at originally.)

WARNING!!: Although this is not permanent (able to be changed back) this is disabling Direct Draw and Direct 3D, so you will not able to play any games while in this setting. So you can alternate the settings between your game play and your Animecraving :P

Right click your desktop and go into your "Properties" and then go into "Settings"

Click "Advanced"

Select "Troubleshoot"

Lower the Hardware Acceleration to the 3rd Notch.

Click "OK" And your done.

Warning: This step may cause rough edges around characters and objects in the video.

If the problem still persists please contact us by clicking here. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Media buffers (loading slowly) or connection interrupted
Sometimes because of your connection or perhaps it was a problem with the server at that time, media will load slowly. The best thing to do in those cases is to pause the episode for several minutes and letting it load. You can also open multiple tabs so you can load more then one episode at the same time. This tip does not currently work on the Silverlight player, you will have to try a lower quality video or switch to windows media player. (Live members have faster load time)

Now some of you are probably wondering what you should do if your internet is slower then usual or slow period.

-If your internet is slow then you might want to call your ISP and upgrade to something else if you can afford it. Cable internet in our experience has always been far faster then DSL. If you can't afford an upgrade then all you can do is watch Low Quality media unless you don't mind waiting. You can always check your internet speed by going to http://speedtest.net/ (Be sure to select the server located in Manassas, Virginia. That location is closest to the AC servers.). If you get anything lower then the result below then you may encounter buffering:

Download Speed: 3959 kbps (494.7KB/sec transfer rate)

-If your internet is just slower then usual then you might want to try unplugging your router and/or modem. In a lot of cases it just needs to be reset. Sometimes you may just need to reboot you computer as it also might be a cause of slower speeds.

If you are ever disconnected for even a second your connection to the media will be interrupted. When that happens you you will not have to wait for the entire episode to load, jut go to the point you were at. To do that all you have to do is move the seek bar to the point you stopped and the episode will load from there.

Audio is Not In Sync
If the audio seems to be ahead of the video then its possible your connection isn't fast enough. The best thing to do is pause the video for several minutes and letting it load. This tip does not currently work on the Silverlight player, you will have to try a lower quality video or switch to windows media player.
