There was a knock at Kazumata's door. Enjel stood outside, stolid as usual and waiting for you young man to open the door.

Luci on the other hand was glancing through her books in an attempt to complete her reading homework. She already had her dress laid out on the bed, but cast no glance of longing or excitement back at it as she scanned the pages- she was more than used to these types of events. In fact she was almost not looking forward to it at all in fact, now that Enjel was going with her instead of Kazumata.

"Lucida won't be going to the banquet with you, Kazumata. I honestly don't feel safe leaving my... little sister in your hands." He gave the boy a look, as if to suggest that he had more to say that could not be said outside of closed doors.

Kazu looked at Enjel weirdly attempting to figure out what brought on this new development. He motioned him inside the room and shut the door again. "So... what exactly changed since Lunch? and You do realise, it is much easier to know what is going on from somewhere other than with the person you are trying to protect right? For instance, someone with a hidden blade comes up to you, if you are beside the person they are going to attack, you cannot act quickly enough to help. If you were however, further away and able to see what is going on around someone, you would have noticed the odd movements of the attacker. Surely they tought you this in your training. If they have not, then I doubt your ability to protect even yourself. Not to mention, it isn't as though she will be attacked at a banquet to which she really isn't attending. If you expect an attack, then security amongst royalty is pretty lax these days. Noone but the Queen, you, I, and the Headmaster know about the princess. I suspect some people around the Academy may have been informed that she may be someone to keep an eye on but as far as I know, nobody else is aware."

(I got the main idea)

While Kazumata was speaking, Enjel pulled out his wand, silently creating a barrier against anyone who might be eavesdropping. "If you aren't smart enough to figure out when someone has a hidden blade from right beside the person who is the target, then you aren't smart enough to be a bodyguard." He replied, not unkindly. "The problem with your theory is that if you are surveying from a distance, there isn't always time to get there in time to stop what is about to happen." He paused, looking out the window at the tower.
"It isn't so much a direct attack that I fear so much as a... much larger incident. If what I fear may occur actually happens, then the princess will have to be secured and moved at a seconds notice. And someone who is wandering off every few minuets at a whimsy won't be able to do that." He sighed and turned back to Kazumata.
"Kazumata, I'm glad that you and the princess have formed such a bond, but I don't believe that you are capable of protecting her under any circumstance that may arise- you're still just a boy, you haven't mastered magic or physical skill, and from what I've heard of today already, you certainly don't have full control over your emotions. Until this threat is cleared, I can't let the princess be alone with you or anyone. She might be in great danger if my suspicions are right.Do you understand?"

Kazumata laughed. "You really are stupid aren't you? It takes an entire team of people to protect someone and move them at a moments notice. This is an academy of magic, it is beyond a doubt more protected than even the Castle Lamor. If something to the scale of what you have described happens, you wont be able to protect the princess alone either. Furthermore, she is here to get away from the pressures of always being watched by people who know nothing of the damage that can cause. It is a banquet, a gathering of people for their children. Nobody knows who she is, equivically, nobody is going to attack her. You also didn't say what caused the change..." Kazu then put two and two together, "I see, So, someone did attack the headmaster. No doubt he probably told you to keep a closer eye on the princess. You do realise, that if someone could cause damage to this school, the power they must control? you would be but a fly going up against a volcano. You can communicate telepathically I assume? Wouldn't it be more wise to have someone watching the flow of the crowd who can then take the best action. This job falls to you, Do you forget what the Noble House of Klien is for? Being a bodyguard is unbifitting. You are here so the princess can go about her faily life the way she sees fit, not to tell her what she can and cannot do"

With that the door opened up and Korben walked in. "Kazumata, I have come to bring your sister. She is to be under your supervision. I have pressing matters to attend to."

With that Korben walked out and vanished. A faint cry could be herd down the hall followed by the sound of lugage collapsing to the ground. Kazu's eyes widened and he rushed out the door returning a couple minutes later carrying Emily's bag and helping her into the room. "Forgive me, I should have met you at the gates"

Emily shook her head and was out of breath but bowed to Enjel. "Hello, I am Emily Klien, it is nice to meet you. Kazu is my older brother." She stood up and smiled.

(the princess isn't actually in any danger, she isn't a taget of anything. pretty much noone special, unless you devise people who are after her)

( I never said he thought she was a target.)

Enjel smiled, taking Emily's hand and bowing to kiss it. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Emily." He let go of her hand, and glanced at Kazumata. It was obvious that their conversation was over. "I'm afraid I must go, but... a parting word- things are not always what they seem. These things are not in your hands, And no more will be said on this subject, Kazumata." He smiled at Emily again. "I hope to see you again soon, Miss Emily." With that he bowed again, turned and left, closing the door quietly behind him.

Heinz flopped down on a couch and began reading a book. " I'm not putting you in an expensive dress 'til you've bathed." he said without looking up. " That's the shower," he said, pointing to a door on the other side of the room, " There should be fresh towels already in there." She nodded and left him and he heard the shower turn on a minute or so later. A quarter of an hour later, the shower cut off and Heinz went and got the dress. He opened the door a crack and shove the dress through, " I'll lace up the back, just put it on and get out here."
________________________________
Kelly took the dress and pulled it on. She could already tell it was going to be a tight fit. Once she was done she called, " Ok, come in." Heinz obliged and she couldn't help but notice him flush slightly when he saw her. Her brief moment of happiness was cut off when Heinz started lacing up the dress. It was an even tighter fit than she had expected. Damn! Do the women of his country have like, no curves?
_______________________________
Once Heinz was done he had her turn around in a circle for him. " Well...it actually looks good on you..." He noticed she looked uncomfortable. " Oh what's wrong? Don't like the color?" Heinz didn't see how that was possible. The dress was almost pure black except at the edges where it faded into red for about an inch.
_______________________________
"No," Kelly said, " It's just rather tight. Are the women of your country devoid of curves?"
______________________________
Heinz was obviously not amused. " The women that do have them are few and far between.Unfortunately, my family is not so lucky as to be one of the few noble families with curvaceous women. Also, I have no idea idea how to fix it. So you'll just have to cope."
_______________________________
Kelly thought of something and hoped Heinz wasn't stupid enough to have not considered it. " Is it laced up all the way? If not, you could lace it up about 3/4 of the way up. That way, it'd still be snug, but not uncomfortable."
_________________________________
"Whatever." Heinz muttered, realizing that he had overlooked an obvious solution to the problem. " I'm a guy, so don't expect me to be the authority on dresses..." He laced it up 3/4 of the way like she had requested and tied it. It actually looked better, although he would never say it.
__________________________________
"Whew!" Kelly said, breathing in deeply. " Well, now that that's done, how about we get on to the make-up!"
__________________________________
Heinz sat down and began reading his book again. "We still have about an hour and a half before the banquet. We'll start the hair and makeup when we have an hour left. Relax until then." He said, his eyes never leaving his book.
___________________________________
Kelly sat down in a comfy chair across from Heinz and waited. "So...Are we just gonna sit here in silence for half-an-hour?"
__________________________________
Heinz nodded." That's what I had planned to do. If you have a better suggestion, feel free." He said, putting down his book and staring at her.Kelly was silent. "Ok then." he said, and went back to his book.

There was a knock at Luci's door. She slowly got up and opened it. Enjel stepped inside and she frowned, as if she had been hoping for someone else.
"The little sister is here." Enjel said simply, smiling as an excited grin came to the princess's face.
"I've got to go meet her! I've wanted to for so long!!" She started to head back toward the door with a new spring in her step.
"Hold on, have you finished your homework?" Enjel stopped her, his tone almost teasing. Luci just rolled her eyes and grinned.
"Yes, big brother!" She said sarcastically. With that she started down the hall at a quick pace, Enjel following close behind.
When they got to Kazu's room however, he slipped around the corner, out of sight, casting a quick spell to hear everything that was going on in the room. Luci knocked on the door, waiting with a grinning excitement.

Kazu was still in the middle of putting his stuff away, he tended to take a lot more to places than he needed. "Emily, would you mind getting the door for me?"

Emily smiled and got up and slowly made her way to the door. "Kazumata Klien's room, what can I do for you?" she said smiling not knowing who had come to visit.

Kazu was putting somethig up high on the top shelf of his closet when something came unstable and toppled over on him and he along with some heavy looking boxes came crashing down in a pile on the floor.

Luci's look of surprise turned to one of complete joy as soon as she realized that Emily was... well, Emily. She grabbed her into a bear hug, and swung the younger girl around once like a small child. "OOHHHHHHHH!! You're so adorable!! You have to be her- theres no way you aren't Kazu's little sister!" She laughed as she let the frail girl down again, but kept her arms around her.
"Hm?" her eyes fell onto Kazumata's fallen figure and she frowned. "Kazu, what are you doing under all that stuff? I thought you never liked playing hide and go seek!"

Emily was smiling but obviously quite confused. "You know Kazu? he makes friends quick it seems"

Kazumata was none too pleased at this point in time. He crawled up from under the boxes and kicekd them towards his closet, the thing is only one managed to go in that direction, the others exploded accoss the room. "Sorry, this closet is smaller than the ones I have at home, why are you here anyway? I thought "Mr. I know how to get people killed with inappropriate security" was taking you to the banquet." He wasn't angry with Luci in the least but, he probably came off a little rash givin the current situation.
