Yes, restart is definitely needed.
I'll probably keep my characters that I posted, I like them.

Hello forum folks, at the behest of Mr Dante I have decided to try my hand at forumming and RP-ing in this Mass Effect universe. I've read through the past posts so I'm up to date and the characters are brilliant so hopefully we can add a little element zero and makes this baby kick! So here goes...

Name: Tarakth
Race: Batarian
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Specialization: Engineer - Demolisher
Abilities: Overload, Incinerate, Tech Mastery
Weapons: 2x M-12 Locust Submachine Guns, M-6 Carnifex, ML-77 Missile Launcher
Biography: Tarakth is a changed batarian after a long history with the Blue Suns mercenary organisation. Having started out on Omega, Tarakth and his twin brother Cathka joined the Blue Suns at an early age, Tarakth as a simple grease monkey and Cathka as a frontline merc. Initially they both excelled in their respective fields but there came a point when Tarakth became disenchanted with the Blue Suns operations and wished to leave. However due to his knowledge of the organization and skills as a technological genius the Blue Suns resisted him and locked him in his workshop enslaved to their operation, an order delivered by the newly-promoted Sergeant Cathka. Foolishly the constant flux of spare parts and thermal clips allowed Tathka to build in secret a colossal heavy mech which then tore through his prison and allowed him to escape. With Blue Suns always on the look out for him he takes smuggling and simple transport jobs in his highly modified Kowloon class freighter the Jhan'shar which serves as his workshop but also his home and spacefaring fortress.

Name: Professor “Spike”
Age: 579
Race: Krogan
Gender: Male
Specialisation: Soldier/Biotic (although his powers are largely undeveloped).
Abilities: Warp, Throw, Slam, Armour Boost, Barrier.
Weapons: Assault rifles, shotguns (untrained)
Background: Having dismissed his clan long ago, and therefore his clan name, Spike is an established professor with a hatred for all other Krogan who still continue to fight. After many fights and wars as a younger Krogan, that got his family killed, Spike turned to pacifism and began to study. He has earned a prestigious name for himself due to his mastery of Science, Medicine and History. Although Spike is extremely hateful and aggressive to those who don’t share his views, he has vowed never to lay a finger on anyone. However, in the coming events, that could change...
Appearance: (I’ll...get back to you on this. Quite frankly, it’s extremely hard to find a decent Krogan picture that isn’t Wrex or Grunt)

So this thing is due a restart? Sounds good. Lemme know when it happens. :)
Well done. Here are the test results: You are a horrible person. I'm serious, that's what it says: A horrible person. We weren't even testing for that.

What the hell is element zero, or any of this stuff? And are we starting anew. As i could make new characters. Is there a plan? Are we all starting at the same spot? is it butter?

Will not playing any mass effect games fully hamper me? :D

(Not playing any of them may not FULLY hamper you, just... perhaps... slow you down, aha. I reckon start anew, you should keep your characters if you like them. We still decided on the time frame, between ME1 and ME2?)

I like the time period as it gives us the ability to then move into ME2 if the situation requires it, also there's lots of Geth hate in the 'verse at that time so it gives us a universal baddie. I guess the thing we need to decide most of all is whether we start anew. As a fresh recruit I'd favour a new start as it means I'd be on the same page as everyone else. What say you Mass Effecters?

Ok I spoke to Dante about starting this thing again and we both seemed to think a high octane action set piece with all our characters somehow involved would be a good place to begin. Picture the scene, something like a resurgent force of Geth attacking a space station in the Terminus Systems full of people and also some kickass mercs such as ourselves. Each one of us is placed in danger, we all have a common enemy and we'd have to fight together and cooperate to get out alive. From there we can continue to be a team or crew or we can divide and seek alternate paths.
I'm just very excited to see this up and running as I'm a huge Mass Effect fan and I love writing. So how about it?

P.S. Any and all jokes about batarians are welcome, I intend for Tarakth to give as good as he gets.

Yeah, I think the idea of this space station is awesome. Slann sent me a draft of the intro as it were, and it's righteous. Howlin', Coeur, you up for it?

Sure, do you mind if i'm a little comedy in this rp? I've been falling out of love with serious gritty, I have enough RP's where that is required.

The attack on the Citadel has come and gone, the defeat of the synthetic race known as the Geth is common news on every civilised planet in the galaxy, but in the lawless reaches of the Therminus Systems they do not care for glorious commanders and theories of impending doom. Once in a while an Alliance force will sweep through these areas searching for remnant Geth before reporting back to their superiors but on Outlaw’s Reach; a space station that served as a harbour for every thief, pirate and slaver in the Terminus Systems, the galactic community was about to find out that not all of the Geth had yet been destroyed.
Each deck of the station thronged with activity as deals were made, fights broke out and slaves processed. Mercenaries from all over the galaxy came to Outlaw’s Reach with a good chance of picking up a bounty or a contract killing and it was clear to anyone who lived there, it was a business that had no end in sight. Whether due to incredible foresight or just sheer coincidence, the head engineer tasked with maintaining the huge station defence cannons had just been killed for a simple bounty hunting task, this meant that no-one would know if the station defences were under threat of internal attack as indeed they were that day. An electronic probe had already begun to shut down gun emplacements within the station as well as the exterior cannons. To anyone on board Outlaw’s Reach, there was no visible difference. To the synthetic intelligence massing on the other side of the sun the door was wide open.

Tarakth looked up from his drink and took the cigar from the tray. He bit into the tip and inhaled the toxins curled up inside revelling in the feeling of the smoke being pulled into his lungs. He set the cigar down again and sat back in his seat and hailed the bartender.
“Hey human! I’m getting dry here, hit me again,”
“Don’t tempt me four-eyes,” he said sneering from behind the bar.
“Ha! I’d like to see you try,” Tarakth mumbled with a chuckle. He cast his two pairs of eyes over at a picture on the wall of a group of alliance soldiers stood together cheering, probably after having killed a few batarians. Tarakth nodded at the picture.
“Skyllian Blitz?”
The bartender glanced over his shoulder back at his customer.
“Yeah, pop’ bought this place after he fought in the blitz,” the human raised his eyebrow, “why you interested?”
Tarakth took another drag of the cigar and blew the smoke up into the air above him.
“I thought he looked familiar.” He smiled as he anticipated the human’s reaction.
“Say that again. Go on.” The man’s hands were gripped tightly on the edge of the bar as he glared back at Tarakth.
“If memory serves human, I think I said,” Tarakth paused and leaned forward, “Hit me. Again.” He pushed the glass across the bar. His other hand dropped to his SMG, just in case. The two eyed each other, human and batarian, hated enemies on different sides of the Blitz. The human broke first.
“Hell, if I shot every batarian that came in this bar I’d lose my license,” the barman reached below and poured Tarakth another drink.
Tarakth downed it and checked the time on his omni-tool. He and the station’s engineer went way back and news had reached him that the Salarian techie had come across some interesting blueprints. Tarakth just hoped they weren’t interesting enough to warrant too much ‘attention’.
“You’re wise to have such ‘accepting’ business principles human. Wise for a human at least.” He got up to walk out leaving the credits on the bar.
“Just get out before I start charging you more than double, batarian.”
However many differences there were between the two, they both stopped what they were doing when all of a sudden the power shut off. On everything. Then powered up again as fast as it had gone.
“-the hell was that?” said the barman.
They both looked around, everything seemed fine. Tarakth quickly scanned the room.
“Everything’s online. Except for your security system.”
The man’s eyes narrowed, “You do that?”
Tarakth sighed and took his cigar, “You really think I’d rob your bar after paying for your best batarian-drink ya’ gha’nur catrok idiot?” Things always sounded more forceful in batarian.
“Anyway, it ain’t just your bar,” Tarakth looked back at his tool’s display, “Every building in the district just went down for 2.3 seconds.”
“What was it then?”
“District-wide probe if I know these things,” Tarakth said in a manner that implied that he definitely DID know these things. “Anyway I got somewhere to be.” He threw the cigar down and crushed into the bar’s gleaming floor. Tarakth’s glass smashed against the wall by his head as walked out into the crowd.

(Anyone can use the salarian engineer I mentioned. He’s dead but he could have been your bounty. Either way though the Geth are coming and they could hit at any moment…)

Name: Jace (Last name unknown, and changes at his whim.)
Age: He say's 20.
Sex: Always willing, humans only.. please.
Race: Human
Appearance:
Image

Specialisation: - Sentinal
Skills: AI Hacking, Energy Drain, CryoBlast, Barrier, Lift, Stasis, Tactical Cloak (I know it's infiltrator. meh.)

Background : Jace is an opportunist. Any situation can be twisted into a man's benefit, if he uses his mind, and thinks outside the box. He follows what he likes to think are three simple rules in life. 1) Survival always comes first. 2) It's better to run away, then seek forgiveness or ask permission. 3) Take every opportunity you can.

Technically Jace could be classed as a coward, technically a criminal. Technically, he doesn't even care. And tech-nology, if his forte. An engineer until recently, a freak accident with element zero gave him weak biotic powers, as well as marring his face with a glowing stigmata, Jace only saw it as another opportunity to take advantage of.

His every thought and skill is focused on his own survival, with little offensive abilities or techniques. He prefers to let others do the work, or let his opponents defeat themselves.

Weapons : M-5 Phalanx heavy pistol. Hip pack filled with grenades.
