Bobobo-bo-Bobobo? The anime is based on the manga. If the anime sucks as hard as it does, then the manga is AT MOST below average.

I have. I don't like animes that are completely based on comedy. Comedic relief is good, but not all the time.

wow didn't know my post would be so popular.

anyway, to address the grave of fireflies. Ya it was sad, but i never even came close to crying and i have 2 theories as to why.

Theory 1
It was a movie. So you couldn't really connect with the characters as well or as long as you would on a series. so when they died, its not as sad as say if your favorite character died in a series which you have watched for a long time.

Theory 2
I didn't like how it made Americans seem like heartless monsters, that turned me off of the movie.
(but then again....we kinda did that to the Japanese in the movie Pearl Harbor.)

oh and i do have a heart believe it or not. :redfaced

If anyone on earth has a right to call us heartless monsters, it's japan.

Image

We did the same in Pearl Harbor(the movie), and they're the only nation to have nuclear weapons used on them....by us. A vast majority of those killed in the bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki were civilians. This is not including the fire-bombings on tokyo (note that most japanese buildings were made of wood at the time). Where, again, the vast majority of those killed were civilians.

I'm not gonna get into politics, but the fact that Japan and the U.S. are friendly now is a miracle.

I don't want to get into how right or wrong it was, but to have stopped Japan back then, my uncle put it pretty good, you would have had to hunt down and kill every single one of them. For a country who's sole occupaion had been war for the previous few centuries, the fact that they are the way they are now is amazing.

I think the bombings on japan were kind of a "holy shit" moment for the world. They knew the bombs were powerful, and only a handfull of people had an incling about what devestation they would cause.

One thing I will point out is, the vast majjority of all casulties in modern wars are civillians. I still say we should throw away the guns and bombs and go back to man to man battles. at least that requires a cause to fight for and a desire to win, not like today where the people with the most money win. Though, the most money did play a big role on who is up to fighting for a cause i guess.

No matter what war we're in, civilian casualties are always extremely small for the U.S.

I agree with everything you said keke. That doesn't mean we can be like "Sorry Japan, our b. Sorry about killing your wife and children..."

This is because the only war we have had on our own soil in the last 100 years has been the civil war. and the Pearl Harbor incident. of course we have few civillian casulties.
