Epic anime suggestions...

Postby Adecko » May 16th, 2009, 6:16 pm

Hello again everyone,

I've been trying to look for a new epic anime to watch, but I can't find one. Does anyone have any suggestions? The epic type I'm looking for is emotionally epic, like Elfen Lied, Rumbling Hearts, Fruits Basket, Kanon, etc.

I was also wondering if someone could do me a favor? I seen a video on youtube with a bunch of short clips of animes, and one of the clips I find pretty epic, and I'd really like to watch the anime... Thing is I have no idea what it is, cold someone please help me figure that out? Thanks a bunch in advance.

The video with the clip in it on youtube is called 'Epic Anime Flood of Stupidity' and the time which it is displayed starts at 1:30 and ends at 1:38

Also thanks for any suggestions you might make.

Nevermind about the anime I was wanting to know about, I should of read the youtube comments haha... It's called School Days, sucks animecrave doesn't have it on here. =/

I guess another way to describe the type of anime I am looking for is one with a lot of epic tragedies in it.

The only anime that I can think of at the moment that has tragedies in it is Basilisk.

Yeah, Iv'e seen it. It's a good anime. Finished watching Shool Days too, appearently the scene I seen in the youtube video was from a game of it, not the anime series.

dam seriously, i was saving the second season so i could watch it dubbed. Anyways, Samurai Seven seemed epic to me. I'm on episode 16 of dragonaut: the resonance, and it's been pretty dam emotion provoking so far. Gungrave seemed like nothing but sadness, but in a good way. My alltime favorite movie that pushed my anime obsession into overdrive - Samurai X Trust and Betrayal, the movie that starts off the Rurouni Kenshin saga, Samurai X Reflections was an amazing conclusion for the other two movies and the series but if you didn't watch the series you wouldn't apreciate most of Reflections as there are a million flashbacks of the series.

Dammit it all to hell, I completely forgot about the spoiler and then came back to post again. Dragonaught - finished it, great ending and epic series imo.

Code Geas definately. Gurren Lagann was also pretty damn epic in my opinion though it ended up being just plain stupid at some parts. What I've seen of X tv was pretty epic, and if its anything like the manga then its just chalk full of your daily dosage of angst and horror. the movie StraightJacket was fairly high on the epic scale too.

agreed, gurren lagan was epic, just a tad cheesy on the mech fights, but still a great story

I really had my doubts about Gurren Lagann when I started it, but it turned out to be really awesome.
