problems with pausing to let it "catch up"

Postby Adam1976 » April 4th, 2012, 7:46 pm

I have been having a problem pausing videos, and getting them to replay fully. I think it may be something in my browser setting ... but I'm not sure. What happens is when encounter the video pausing to buffer, i pause it as recommended to let it buffer up some more. I leave the room from four to ten minutes and come back and hit play... the video plays for maybe 30-45 seconds then freezes. The only solution i have so far is to hit reload and start at the very beginning again, including the 20 second animecrave intro. I try loading the lower quality video (if the option is available) and still have the same problems. It seems to happen at peak times of the day.... Also last week the site was down for almost two days. Just curious if these problems are normal or.....

Thanks much!

after Megavideo was taken down, there has been a large amount of new users, and that could account for your problems.

I would also send a bug report on one of the videos as well, as the admins only check the forums when they have time. the bug report will send a E-mail to them and will help the issue get looked at faster.

Personally I do a bug report on the video and post on the forums.

Please do as ramm mentioned, always report the problem. It could have been a media servers reboot that caused this which happens twice a day. Though usually the players reconnect once server is back online.

It could also be that a server had stopped responding for a certain period of time due to a load. Though this is rare its possible, best to always report problems no matter how often they happen to help us find the exact reason it may have happened.

Months later and it's still doing the same stuff. Worst cause I've donated to.

What problem are you having exactly? I see that your using silverlight as your player, if its a buffering issue, please switch to windows media player & pause for a few minutes to allow the video to buffer ahead.

If you don't believe that the buffering is unusually slow for your connection, please report the problem and I'm sure we can help you!
