woot fast speeds!

Internet speeds just went up here. Now I can get get 50mps down and 10mps up!! Love it.

Lol, that's awesome now you wont have to worry about waiting for videos to load! I"m still at like 16 mbps download =(, what do you use (your ISP)?

Midcontinent communications. Only in north and south dakota though. Even with these awesome speeds, still takes along time to buffer the hi def stuff. But probly just where those servers are is what is causing that.

We have DOCSIS 3.0. This is when they start to do channel bonding. Most ISPs for cable companies only use one RF frequency for their internet. ie 597mhz. With Docsis 3.0 they can take multiple frequencies and bond them together to make one big pipeline you can call it. We bond 8 frequencies on the downstream and 2 frequencies on the upstream. Even though the speeds are 50mbps down, dont mean I'll get that all the time, that speed is only what you get within our network/company area. Its more for bandwidth then anything. I can stream video and other things on different devices without worried about slow downs or buffering or lag time. We actually have a plan where you can get 100mbps down but that can get spendy. (fyi I work for the cable company here.)
