^that's kinda what happened to me, I used to watch digimon and pokemon and thought they were cartoons, then I saw Chobits on the internet and noticed it looked like other shows I had seen. After that I realized what anime was. changed my life.

and an awesome change we all know it was, many people started out that way from something that they seen on TV. Back in the day when I first came online there wasn't much online at all but it all grew very fast.

I'm so glad I discovered anime. I wonder what my life would have been like if I didn't. I probably would have a life.[/i]

For me it would be Outlaw Star and Yu Yu Hakusho when they were on Toonami(and when Toonami had good shows). Then I started watching Cowboy Bebop and Fooly Cooly on Adultswim and after that I started liking anime.

I think fooly cooly was one of the first shows I watched. That is one messed up anime.

Yeah I still believe that who ever made Fooly Cooly must been on an acid trip or something. I mainly liked the show cause of the random humor it had.

the humor is what made the show worth watching, definitly not the plot.

Yeah I have to agree. The story was okay at best but the animation, action scenes, and humor were awesome. Especially the part where it turned into a manga for a little while. That was funny and awesome at the same time.

lol, that and the scene where they're shooting themselves with the guns. I've watched the show like 4 times and still don't understand the plot.

fooly cooly is a coming of age story.

What I find really sad is that there are people out there who like to classify anime into the same category as hannah montanna, spongebob square pants, and southpark.

I can kinda, sorta, vaguely see someone think that south park or spongebob is anime, like where they think anime is animation and drawings, but I can't see anyone think hannah montana is anime.

Yeah I can see how they can classify those three into the animation category but what I mean is that classify anime into everything else when they say that there is nothing good on tv anymore. I'd classify reality tv, hannah montanna, and southpark into that category but not anime.

The first animes that I liked were Pokemon and Sailor Moon, and then I watched Digimon, Cardcaptors, Hamtaro, and Yu-gi-oh.
